Welcome to the
the homepage for Bebside Housing

a website dedicated to a public consultation in association with a proposed housing development to the north of the A193 at Bebside.

Residents and stakeholders are invited to comment on the proposals for new housing and provide feedback. It is expected that an ‘outline’ planning application for the proposals would be submitted to Northumberland County Council in Autumn of 2018. Comments to be received by the 30th November 2018.

The Site Plan

The site plan above illustrates the size and location of the site. The land encompasses farm and equestrian land to the north of the A193 and also straddles either side of Bebside Furnace Road. The total site area is just under 13 hectares and would provide approximately 328 new homes. The proposals are for predominantly housing though some commercial (retail) units/shops are also proposed. It is envisaged that there will be a good mix of housing from small, affordable starter homes to large family homes. A mix of houses, bungalows and apartments would be provided. A wide range of house types is shown including 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom properties in a mix of terraces, semi-detached and detached. It is likely that the height of the properties would be a mix of predominantly single and two-storey buildings. There may be some elements of three-storey in the form of town houses. Access to the site would be from three main points, one from the A193 and two from Bebside Furnace Road.
